I am always on the search to find fresh, local produce. The closer to home my food is grown the better. I am thankful for Augusta Locally Grown and the wonderful movement it has sprouted in Augusta. Their mission is to help support small farms and gardeners by making locally-grown and sustainably-grown foods available for purchase in the CSRA. They also host a lot of really fun educational farm tours with progressive meals that Steven and I love to go on. So when I decided to include a list of professional Farm-to-Table Caterers on the blog I reached out to Kim Hines, Executive Director of Augusta Locally Grown, for a list.
Here are a few that she recommended:
Chef Charleen – In 2011, Charleen joined Augusta Locally Grown as a hands-on advocate for fresh, local foods. As she forged friendships with local farmers and growers, her business evolved into what is today known as “Culinary Connections.”
Chef Erica – Opening a new “chefs market” storefront in Evans very soon called Red Clay Market. Stay tuned…
Chef Megan – Megan Alig is the founder and Chef of Creative Cuisine. It is a rapidly growing company that began from the owners love of food. Volunteering in the community is a big part of her ethics. Incorporating locally sourced foods as much as possible is something she strives for. The concept for Creative Cuisine is from scratch, plain and simple. With 3 culinary certifications and honors, it gives this unique company the ability to do new and exciting menus. They do not have standardized menus. The client comes first in regards to their event.
